Built to NERC CIP-014 and the site threat level
A substation fence and a data-center fence are not the same. We build the height, anti-climb rating, anti-ram rating, and clear zone the security plan and NERC CIP-014 call for, and we document it.

Common questions
What fence does NERC CIP-014 require?
CIP-014 does not name one fence. It requires the substation to be hardened to the utility’s threat assessment. We build the anti-climb, anti-ram, and clear-zone measures that meet it.
What is anti-climb fence?
A fence with mesh openings too small to get a finger or toe hold, so it cannot be climbed like chain-link. It is the standard for high-security sites.
Does Langston install the cameras and sensors?
No. We install the fence and the pathways for detection. The owner’s security integrator installs the cameras, sensors, and software.
How tall is a high-security perimeter fence?
Most high-security and substation fences run 8 to 10 feet plus a top guard, but we build to the height and rating the security plan calls for.
