Langston Construction Company (“Langston,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a general contractor and security construction integrator headquartered in Piedmont, South Carolina, operating since 1969. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website at langstonconstr.com (the “Site”), through forms hosted on the Site, and through direct communications with our offices. This policy does not apply to information collected offline, on third-party websites linked from the Site, or through services that have their own separate privacy policies.

By using the Site or submitting information to us, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. We are a United States company, and the Site is intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from limited third-party sources.

2.1 Information You Provide

When you fill out a form on the Site, send us an email, call us, or submit information through one of our portals, we collect the information you choose to share with us. This may include:

• Quote Request Form: name, company, email address, phone number, project location, project type, project description, timeline, and any details you choose to add
• General Contact Form: name, company, email address, phone number, and message
• Subcontractor Portal Submissions: company name, contact name, email, phone, trades performed, license and insurance information, references, service area, and supporting documents you upload
• Newsletter Signup: email address and any name or company information you choose to provide
• Future Chatbot Interactions (if implemented): your typed messages and any contact details you share inside the chat session

We collect only what you submit. You are not required to use the Site, and you can choose not to provide any of this information, although certain features will not work without it.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider, our content delivery network, and our analytics tools automatically collect technical information. This includes:

• IP address (often partially anonymized in analytics)
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Device type and screen size
• Referring URL (the page that sent you to us)
• Pages viewed, time on page, and click activity
• Approximate geographic location (city or region level), inferred from IP address
• Date and time of visits

This information is collected through Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-915XPXTHRJ), Cloudflare (our content delivery network and security layer), 10Web (our hosting platform), and standard web server logs.

2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. The categories in use are:

• Strictly Necessary Cookies: required to load the Site, maintain session state, and protect against security threats. These cannot be disabled
• Analytics Cookies: set by Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors use the Site in aggregate. We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization where supported, and we do not use Google Analytics for cross-site advertising
• Performance Cookies: set by Cloudflare to optimize delivery and detect malicious traffic

We do not currently display a cookie consent banner because we do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party advertising networks on the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the way the Site works.

2.4 Information From Other Sources

We may receive information about you from publicly available business sources (such as professional directories, your company’s website, or LinkedIn) when we evaluate prospective clients, subcontractors, or partners. We may also receive information from referral partners who introduce you to us with your permission.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for legitimate business purposes, including:

• Responding to quote requests, contact form messages, and direct inquiries
• Delivering construction services to clients
• Evaluating subcontractor applications and managing supplier relationships
• Sending project updates, scheduling notices, and operational communications to active clients and subcontractors
• Sending marketing emails about our services to people who have requested information from us, with an unsubscribe option in every message
• Operating, maintaining, and improving the Site
• Analyzing aggregate traffic patterns to improve our content and design
• Detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, security incidents, and abuse
• Complying with legal obligations, court orders, and regulatory requirements
• Enforcing our Terms of Use and protecting our legal rights

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with advertising networks for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Service Providers and Third Parties

We work with a small number of trusted service providers that process information on our behalf under written agreements that limit how they may use the data. These include:

• Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) for email, calendaring, file storage, and internal collaboration
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (planned) for customer relationship management. When implemented, contact form submissions and lead records may be stored in Dynamics 365
• Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) for website analytics. Google’s privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy
• Cloudflare, Inc. for content delivery, DDoS protection, and edge security
• 10Web for managed WordPress hosting infrastructure
• Email delivery, form processing, and webhook services that route Site form submissions into our internal systems
• Professional advisors (accountants, attorneys, insurers) and auditors when their work requires access to relevant records

We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, respond to a valid legal process, protect the safety of any person, address fraud or security issues, or protect our legal rights or property.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information held by us may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice on the Site before any transfer that would change how this Privacy Policy applies to your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and as required by law. General retention guidelines:

• Active project and client records: for the duration of the engagement plus the time required by contract, statute of limitations, tax law, and bonding or insurance requirements
• Subcontractor records: for the duration of the relationship plus standard records-retention periods for procurement and compliance
• Marketing email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression-list period
• Quote requests and contact form messages where no engagement results: typically up to 24 months, after which records are reviewed and deleted or archived
• Web server logs and analytics data: retained according to provider defaults, typically 14 months for Google Analytics

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be associated with you.

6. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

As a United States visitor, you have several practical choices regarding your information:

• Access and correction: you can ask us what personal information we hold about you and request that we correct errors. We will respond within a reasonable time, typically 30 days
• Deletion: you can ask us to delete personal information we have collected about you. We will honor reasonable requests, except where we are required to retain records for legal, contractual, accounting, or audit purposes
• Marketing email opt-out: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us using the contact details below to opt out
• Do Not Track: some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no industry-wide standard for honoring it, and the Site does not currently respond to it. We disclose our practices in this policy so you can make informed choices regardless of browser settings

To exercise these choices, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding to make sure we are communicating with the correct person.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for business audiences, project owners, engineers, procurement professionals, prospective subcontractors, and similar adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the Site, role-based access to internal systems, logging and monitoring on hosting and CRM platforms, multi-factor authentication on administrative accounts, and routine security updates. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet will never be intercepted. You are responsible for keeping your own credentials confidential.

9. Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to third-party websites, including project owner sites, professional association directories, news outlets, manufacturer specifications, and our social media profiles. Once you click a link to leave the Site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and encourage you to review their policies before submitting information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes that affect how we use personal information will be highlighted on the Site or communicated through the email address you have provided, where appropriate. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Jurisdiction

Langston Construction Company is headquartered in South Carolina, and this policy is governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of this policy is subject to the venue and jurisdiction terms set out in the Langston Construction Terms of Use.
