MECART Manufacturing Facility Upfit & Renovation
Langston Construction Company partnered with MECART to transform an existing 126,360-square-foot shell building into a modern manufacturing and office facility designed to support current operations and future growth. Through a comprehensive design-build approach, the project converted approximately 71,000 square feet into a fully functional production and administrative space while preserving the remaining area for future tenant occupancy.
The extensive interior upfit included demolition, underground plumbing installation, construction of new office and production areas, structural steel enhancements, and the addition of employee-focused amenities. The facility features a modern café space, upgraded restrooms, new HVAC and plumbing systems, enhanced fire protection infrastructure, and electrical and compressed air distribution systems designed to support specialized manufacturing equipment.
To accommodate MECART's operational requirements, the project incorporated polished concrete flooring, custom millwork, new dock access, and numerous building modifications tailored to the manufacturing environment. Close coordination among multiple trades and careful integration of production equipment ensured the facility was delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
The completed facility provides MECART with a modern, flexible workspace that balances manufacturing functionality with employee comfort, creating an environment designed to support productivity, innovation, and long-term growth.
