230 kV Substation Project Details: Installation of 1,772 LF of fiberglass composite sheet pile to depths ranging from 18 ft to 20 ft below grade with 8 LF protruding above grade to act as the flood wall. The pile system uses a hydrophilic caulking to make the system watertight. Approximately 400 LF of this system is to be installed under power transmission lines ranging from 115kV to 230kV. The work under lines is to be performed under shutdown conditions with crews working 24hr/day. Project includes:
- Site grading, erosion control, and site clearing
- Six nyloplast catch basins, 120 LF of 12" PVC, 100 LF of 12" HDPE, and four 12" post indicator valves
- Installation of 4 (each) Pressray flood gate Fastlog with foundations
- Installation of temp fence and temp grounding as well as permanent grounding
- Includes 48 LF of chain link fence, and 61 LF of 10 ft high cast in place 14" thick concrete wall
- Three Pressray fastlog flood gate with removable mullions, general grading, and storm drainage. These permanent flood mitigation measures are being implemented to mitigate damages and thus subsequent outages during future major storm events
- 861 LF of SG950 Pile, 20 LF length: 8 ft above ground, 12 inground
- Three concrete drive gates, with a portion of work performed under outage conditions
