National Children’s Book Day

In celebration of National Children’s Book Day, Langston Construction donated books to two foster care facilities and a local public school. We had the pleasure of touring Calvary Home for Children in Anderson, SC, and were amazed by their beautiful campus and the incredible work they do for children.
The Executive Director, Laura, shared with us that they are 100% community-funded and have their own solar panel field, which saves them $25,000 per year in electricity expenses. This allows them to put their resources towards enriching the lives of the children who may stay for one day or for many years.
We were impressed by the building dedicated to teaching children life lessons on their level, including cooking, budgeting, basic household repairs, and how to use tools correctly to make those repairs. The space is also used as a quiet place to read or a social space for foster care families.
We applaud the ministry at Calvary Home for Children and look forward to finding ways to partner with them in the future.

Happy National Children’s Book Day!
